Field Leader / Heavy Equipment Operator

Lead the crew. Run the equipment. Help build the company.

Iron Elk Site and Property Services is hiring a Field Leader / Heavy Equipment Operator based in Elkton, Maryland. The work is in person on job sites across Cecil County and the surrounding areas of Pennsylvania and Delaware. We are an early-stage company that is growing, so this is a real opportunity to help shape how our operations run.

What you will do

• Lead a small crew on site, keep the work moving and make sure the finished job is right.
• Operate equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, chippers, lifts or tractors. You do not need experience on every machine.
• Tow and work safely around trucks, trailers, equipment and active job sites.
• Assess a project, plan what needs doing and solve practical problems as they come up.
• Talk with customers on site and represent Iron Elk professionally.
• Take care of the equipment, the job site and the finished work.

Experience and qualities

• Hands-on background in landscaping, property services, tree work, excavation, land clearing, construction or heavy equipment operation.
• Experience operating one or more of the machines listed above.
• Dependable, hardworking and professional, with clear communication.
• Able to lead people and keep a day organized.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Initiative and ownership, and interest in helping build a growing company.

Starting pay

Starting pay: $35/hour. This is in-person field work based out of Elkton, Maryland, on job sites across Cecil County and nearby Pennsylvania and Delaware.
