DSWA rates and minimums
The FY2027 schedule covers July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. These examples are facility charges; special material and load conditions can change the amount.
| Facility and material | Published amount |
|---|---|
| Cherry Island: solid waste and construction debris | $80 per ton |
| Pine Tree Corners: solid waste | $80 per ton |
| Vehicle minimum | $7.50 |
A minimum is the floor for the applicable charge, not a flat price for every small load. Review the full DSWA schedule for special handling and mixed yard-waste charges.
Match the facility to the material
Do not choose a destination from the town name alone. Confirm acceptance, load preparation and entry requirements with the facility. Separate questions about electronics, chemicals, appliances and tree debris before loading; see items needing separate handling.
A facility rate is not your service quote
The published Iron Elk trailer disposal charge is $99 per ton, based on recorded weight. Rental, labor, hauling and any special handling are identified in your written quote. Facility gate fees are separate from Iron Elk service pricing. Send the pickup ZIP, material, approximate quantity and access. New Castle County service requests can combine cleanup, wood hauling and other property work.
Frequently asked questions
Is $7.50 a flat disposal price?
No. It is the published vehicle minimum. The applicable tonnage and special-item charges determine the total.
Will every Delaware load go to the same facility?
No. The destination depends on acceptance, material, route and the agreed job scope.
Can I include fallen-tree debris?
Describe trunks, stumps and branches separately. Tree cleanup and hauling can be requested together, with the disposal plan confirmed before loading.
