Job at a glance
Work included
Send dimensions, weight, loading method, road conditions, gates and destination. Livestock and regulated material require separate review. The actual load moved between the pickup point and the destination, with the loading responsibility agreed in advance. Delivery does not include spreading or grading unless quoted; equipment transport depends on suitable equipment and coverage.
Access and preparation
Origin and destination, what the load is and roughly how much, and access for the vehicle and trailer at both ends.
What shapes the quote

Planning the job
Build the trip around the farm’s work
- Farm hauling often brings together material from several places: a barn cleanout, retired equipment, old fence sections or supplies waiting to be moved.
- Reopening a building entrance, preparing a paddock boundary for fence work and clearing a storage bay can have different priorities.
Use the entrance that suits the load
- The address may lead to a house while the material sits at a different barn or field entrance.
- Describe the actual pickup route, including the gate to use and where the vehicle can turn or stop.
- If access is shared with active farm work, identify the person who can coordinate the arrival.
- Moving supplies to an accessible drop area differs from distributing them across several fields or buildings.
- Old fencing and metal should also be described separately from soil, vegetation or stored chemicals.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to the scrap?
Metal accepted for recycling is separated from other material and taken to the agreed recycling destination. Identify equipment still in use, attached parts and material that must stay on the farm. Iron Elk confirms loading, hauling and how any recycling value affects the quote; recyclable material does not automatically make the pickup free.
Can you get down the farm lane?
The trailer goes where a pickup goes. Soft ground gets boards, the same as a driveway.
