Job at a glance

Work included

Provide the exact make and model, operating condition, pickup and delivery access. Transport is accepted only when the available equipment and coverage fit the load. The actual load moved between the pickup point and the destination, with the loading responsibility agreed in advance. Delivery does not include spreading or grading unless quoted; equipment transport depends on suitable equipment and coverage.

Access and preparation

Origin and destination, what the load is and roughly how much, and access for the vehicle and trailer at both ends.

What shapes the quote

Weight and quantity, handling, distance and, where relevant, disposal.

Planning the job

Describe the machine as it will travel

  • The same machine can make a different transport request depending on what goes with it.
  • Buckets, forks, attachments and loose accessories all need to be identified, including anything traveling separately.
  • A model name is a useful start, but tell Iron Elk about additions or changes that affect the machine’s dimensions or weight.
  • The move is reviewed around the actual loading and unloading needs, then accepted only when the equipment, route and applicable coverage fit.

Make the handoff work at both sites

  • For a dealer or auction pickup, confirm who can release the machine and what collection details they require.
  • For a job-site move, identify the person responsible for access and the place where the machine is waiting.
  • Keys, attachments and the intended delivery contact should be accounted for before the transport window is set.
  • A space on a map may not show a locked gate, an active work zone or equipment already occupying it.
  • If the machine is moving between stages of a larger project, explain when the old site can release it and when the new site is ready.

Frequently asked questions

Between job sites or from the dealer?

Both. Site-to-site moves, auction and dealer pickups, and the trip nobody plans for when a machine dies mid-job.

Is the load covered in transit?

Before scheduling, confirm the coverage and limits applicable to the machine and move. Transport is accepted only when the equipment, route and applicable coverage fit the load.
