Job at a glance

Work included

Do not approach downed power lines, unstable structures or active flooding. Iron Elk reviews hazards and confirms the right operator before scheduling. The actual load moved between the pickup point and the destination, with the loading responsibility agreed in advance. Delivery does not include spreading or grading unless quoted; equipment transport depends on suitable equipment and coverage.

Access and preparation

Origin and destination, what the load is and roughly how much, and access for the vehicle and trailer at both ends.

What shapes the quote

Weight and quantity, handling, distance and, where relevant, disposal.

What the work can look like

Lawn after removal of the large fallen tree, with a low cut stump and modest grass disturbance.

Planning the job

Tree service by location

  • Tree work across Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania can include standing-tree removal, trimming, fallen-tree cleanup and stump work.
  • Mature standing trees and large fallen trees are coordinated with a licensed tree professional.
  • Scope, access, applicable requirements and the responsible professional are confirmed before work.
  • Already-cut debris pickup can be requested separately.

Start with the area you need back

  • After immediate hazards have been addressed, a property can still be difficult to use because of scattered debris.
  • The most useful first cleanup may be the route to a garage, a walkway or an accessible part of the yard.
  • Ordinary storm-debris pickup covers detached material ready for loading; a whole tree, suspended limb or structure-involved tree remains a separate tree-work request, even when it fell during the same storm.

Connect debris removal to the repairs that follow

  • A fence installer or repair contractor may need a particular area cleared before their work can begin.
  • If damaged structures must also be dismantled, identify that separately from loading material already on the ground.
  • For wood and yard debris, decide whether you want all approved material hauled away or certain pieces retained in a designated place.
  • No cutting or moving into hazardous areas is needed to prepare a request.
  • Cutting a standing or fallen tree is tree work rather than debris pickup, and is coordinated with a licensed tree professional regardless of the tree’s size.

Conditions to keep in view

  • Separate hauling can follow once tree work and hazards are resolved.

For icy entrances, walks, lanes or parking areas, see salting and deicing. Winter availability is confirmed by ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Does debris pickup include cutting down or cutting up a whole tree?

No. Ordinary debris pickup is loading and hauling loose, detached and already-cut material after tree cutting and hazards are resolved. Cutting a standing or fallen tree is quoted as tree work under its own scope, coordinated with a licensed tree professional.

What should I send?

Photograph the debris and the vehicle access from a safe place. Tell us about wires, unstable structures, flooding or material still attached to a tree. Availability and included handling are confirmed before pickup.
