Service examples

What the work can look like

Emptied living room with wood floors, open to a bright rear room and door.

Scope

The scope may require an initial walkthrough. Biohazards, sharps, structural damage, pests or blocked utilities must be disclosed so the correct operator and precautions can be arranged.

Planning the job

Start with a manageable area and a shared goal

  • You do not have to make every decision about the property in the first conversation.
  • The plan should identify the person who can authorize removal and how the resident or other people involved will participate in decisions.
  • Iron Elk can review a defined starting area and discuss whether the remaining property needs separate phases.

Decide how sorting questions will be handled

  • As stored layers are opened, an ordinary-looking container may reveal personal papers, photographs or something the household wants to keep.
  • Progress can be described by the areas completed and the decisions still outstanding.
  • If work is staged, identify what the next phase depends on, whether that is further sorting, access or a separate assessment of property conditions.
