Note whether items are inside or already accessible, and any stairs, gates, doorways or tight routes on the way out.

What shapes the quote

Planning the job

Count the whole bed setup

  • A mattress pickup can involve more than the mattress.
  • A bed may also have a foundation, separate frame, headboard or adjustable base, and those pieces may not all be leaving together.
  • A mattress stored flat in a garage is different from a complete bed still assembled upstairs.
  • Remove bedding and personal possessions you are keeping before the pickup, and explain whether any loose contents beneath or inside the bed are part of the removal.

Fit the pickup around the replacement or room handover

  • When a new mattress is arriving, check which old items the delivery arrangement covers.
  • Sometimes the remaining frame, foundation or another mattress elsewhere in the property still needs its own pickup.
  • For rentals or managed buildings, include any access period that affects carrying through shared areas.
  • Photos of the room and the route give Iron Elk a way to assess the pickup.
  • Any unusual condition or special handling should be identified before the removal plan is accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Is one mattress worth the trip?

Yes. Single-item pickups are welcome. Send a photo, the property location and the route from the mattress to the loading area. Iron Elk reviews the details and confirms the price and available pickup timing before scheduling.

Do you take box springs and frames?

Include box springs, bed frames, headboards and adjustable bases in your request, and identify which pieces should leave. Tell us whether anything needs to be taken apart and where it is located. Iron Elk confirms the accepted items, removal work and price before the pickup is scheduled.
