What the work can look like

Emptied living room with wood floors, open to a bright rear room and door.

Planning the job

Remove the pieces that are in the way of the next layout

  • Furniture removal can open a room for a replacement, make a smaller home easier to use or clear pieces left after a tenant or family member moves.
  • Identify furniture with contents before the pickup.
  • If several people share the property, agree on the selected pieces together so the removal list reflects the final choices rather than the first person's understanding.

Plan the carry around the furniture you are keeping

  • A large piece may have come into the property before other furniture was added or a room layout changed.
  • Show the present route, including the space needed to turn through a doorway.
  • Where new furniture is arriving, share the planned delivery and whether the old piece must remain in use until then.
  • Moving or assembling the replacement is separate work unless it is specifically discussed and accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to move anything first?

No. The crew works around the room and sweeps where the piece sat.

Stairs, tight turns, doorways?

That's the job. Legs come off, doors come off hinges if they must, walls stay unmarked.
